Could we really achieve our goals?

Could we really achieve our goals?

I believe most people have made some kind of plans and set goals for this year. This could be anything from getting a better job, buying a new car, going on a vacation, learning a new language or skill, starting a business or even losing weight. I also believe most people will not achieve their goals.

Believe it or not, the reason for this is largely not because of external factors. We all like to blame external circumstances for most of our problems. The truth is that it is just a bad habit to reach for this excuse when we wish to explain to ourselves or others why something isn’t working in our lives. When you blame something on external factors such as bad luck, your parents, your boss, the environment, your genes, your childhood, or whatever, you are surrendering control of your life to these outside factors.

The alternative to blame is self-responsibility. Most of us have never thought of taking total responsibility for the happenings and circumstances of our lives.

Instead of blame, we could choose to know that all of the events and people who have affected our lives, have had a specific role. We could also choose to know that the things we do not understand or approve of, happened in our lives to teach us something.
Abandoning this tendency to find fault with external factors is crucial to a self-reliant balanced, peaceful, happy life.

We are all talented creatures. Unfortunately, we are also very talented at depriving ourselves of a decent life. What could we do to change this?

When you think that someone or something else is responsible for your circumstances, think of it as a lesson instead. A lesson to remind you that only you have the key to yourself and the type of life you lead. When you search within for that key, you will always find what you need.

Be thankful for these lessons. An “attitude of gratitude” will turn each situation in your life into a learning experience. Remember that blaming is futile. Ask yourself, “What can I learn from this lesson? Why did this happen to me?” Never forget that everything that happens to you has something beneficial in it.

Trust your intuition or, as I call it, “gut feeling”. That feeling we all have before almost any decision we have to make, usually guides us in the right direction.

Keep a vision of what you want to happen in your life and what is important to you. If you keep this vision in your mind at all times, you will find that these very things will start to gravitate towards you. Over time you will notice that you have become a co-creator in your own life.

Practice being self-reliant. Accepting the fact that you are the driver of your life, and only you have responsibility for your life, will open up a whole new world for you.

If you are capable of accepting this fact, you will find it much easier to tackle more concrete issues, like setting and achieving your goals.

Many of the most intelligent, successful and accomplished people on the planet have said that there are 12 steps to setting and achieving goals. Based on my life experiences, I would have to agree with them.

Awaken the desire. You need a burning desire to overcome the fear and other difficulties that hold back most people.

Believe deeply in what you want to achieve, to activate you subconscious.
You need to set realistic goals of course. If the goals are realistic your mind will accept it.

Write down your goals. If you do not write it down, then these are not goals just dreams.
By writing down concrete and realistic goals, we firmly plant those goals in our subconscious mind. Did you know most people do not write down their goals because they simply do not believe in them?

Make a list of the benefits achievement of your goals will provide.
The greater the benefit, the bigger the motivation.

Analyze your current situation. By defining the starting point, you will be able to track and measure your progress. The more clearly you see the starting point (ie: where you are now) and the finish line (ie: where you want to be) the bigger the chance for success.

Define a specific target date. By doing this, you have programmed achievement of your goal into your mind. Don’t be afraid of missing your date. What is the worst thing that can happen? You need to set another date. No big deal. It just means your goal will take a little longer to accomplish.

Make a list of the obstacles that you might face. Where ever  there are good opportunities, there are also obstacles. Identifying the obstacles before they arise, is the first step in developing a strategy to overcome them.

Find out what knowledge and information you need to achieve our goals.
In today’s information society, people with more and higher quality information are the ones who are succeeding. Having good information is absolutely essential.

Make a list of the people who could help you, support you, co-operate with you.
This means everyone from family, friends and colleagues. In order to succeed, you will need a top-notch supporting cast of good people. The power of network marketing- if you learn to use it- is in the supporting network. Remember, your up line is there to help. It is in their interest to do so.

Make a detailed plan. By using the information in the first 9 points, you should have everything in your hand for a good plan. You wouldn’t dream of building a house without a good plan. The same is true for “building” success in business or personal endeavours. A plan is vital to achievement of your goals.

Visualize. See yourself clearly in the situation of achieving your goals. Visualizing the attainment of your goals burns it into your subconscious, which in turn, helps to make it a reality. If you are able to see it in your mind, you have a good chance of achieving it. A famous philosopher once said, “What the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve.”  This is so very true. I know because I have experienced this in my own life….if anything has helped me it has been  visualization and commitment.

Never give up. You need to commit 100% to your goals. You´ve got to promise yourself to stay committed to your plan no matter what. There is no single element to success more crucial than persisitence. If you do not give up, you will succeed eventually.

Remember, you are in control of you own life and destiny. Will this be the year when you will finally commit to be the driver of your life?

Start creating a life that you deserve. You are not alone. We, the people in the Calivita family, all want the same thing and we want you to succeed.
